The Pale Realm opens its gates early to a small circle of testers on Android. Here is how to get in, what to expect and how to tell us when something breaks.

The testing page opens on 31 October. Until then invitations go out by email: wait for yours, or put your name down now and tick the closed beta box.

Ask for an invitation

Use the same Google account everywhere

Google Play admits testers by email address. Register, join and install with the Google account your phone uses for Google Play. Any other address, even another one of yours, will not see the beta.

Getting set up

Register for the beta on this site with your Google account’s email, or wait for the invitation we send you.
On 31 October, open the testing page while signed in to that Google account and choose “Become a tester”.
Install The Pale Realm from the Google Play link on that page. It can take a few minutes to appear after you join.
Open the game and play as a guest, or create an account and confirm it from the email we send to keep your progress in the cloud.
Updates arrive through Google Play like any other app, so keep automatic updates on.

Known issues

Already on our list, no need to report them:

Voices are in English only during the beta. Japanese and Turkish voice-over arrive in a later update.
A few heroines do not have all of their voice lines yet.
The download is about 190 MB, so Wi-Fi is recommended.
On some phones the game lowers scene detail by itself to keep battles smooth. You can change it in Settings → Scene detail.
The beta is Android only. The Steam (PC) version comes later.

Found a bug?

Tell us what happened, what you expected and on which phone. Every report is read.

In the game: Settings → Feedback. Your game version and phone details are filled in for you.
By email: write to support@thepalerealm.com with your phone model and the steps that led to the problem.
On Google Play: the beta’s store page lets you send private feedback straight to us.

Please stay for 14 days

Google lets a new game launch publicly only after at least 12 testers have kept its beta for 14 days in a row. Keep the game installed and drop in when you can until 14 November: it is the most helpful thing you can do for The Pale Realm.
